F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2024 British GP

Yuki Tsunoda, RB (P10, 1 pt): 7/10
This was a welcome return to form for Yuki Tsunoda who started the season well and then went through a bit of a barren period. It's his best result and first points since he crossed the line in eighth place in Monaco. That's despite being the cause of the first red flag of the weekend, spinning off and beaching himself in the gravel after just five laps of FP1. He slowly recovered his confidence from there and moved forward through the rest of the the practice and qualifying sessions, solidly ahead of RB team mate Daniel Ricciardo throughout. He gained two places at the start and fell in behind the Aston Martins of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll. He looked on course for ninth until a late pass by Alex Albon on lap 45 halved his eventual points haul, but it was still a good feeling to be back in the top ten this weekend.

Alexander Albon, Williams (P9, 2 pts): 8/10
What a difference a week makes. In Austria, Williams had looked all at sea and completely lacking any pace. It was the sort of showing that can wreck any driver's confidence. But instead, this week Alex Albon made it through to the final round of qualifying to secure a top ten start. He lost places after contact with Fernando Alonso in the first corner of the race damaged his front wing, but he kept it together and by the finish was back in ninth place to double his existing points tally for the season. He might race under the Thai flag, but we're happy to add the London-born boy to our tally of home successes at Silverstone.
