Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes (P4, 12 pts): 8/10
Given his imminent move to Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton is presumably being moved to the side exit at Brackley. But Mexico proved that he's still very much a fighter and not about to accept George Russell as team leader. He was in strong form despite the latest revision of the W15 proving to be a handful for both drivers. It was back and forth between the team mates with Russell edging Hamilton in qualifying, Hamilton getting ahead at the start, only to lose a place in the early stages, but reclaiming it with six laps to go as Mercedes finished 'best of the rest' behind the podium trio.
Charles Leclerc, Ferrari (Fastest Lap, P3, 15 pts): 8.5/10
Absent from FP1 in favour of Oliver Bearman, Charles Leclerc never quite seemed to catch up with the flying Carlos Sainz over the remainder of the weekend. Qualifying in fourth looked like it was bound to be a setback but on lap 9 he took advantage of the battle raging between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris to snatch second. He seemed to fall back from Sainz after that as they worked their way through backmarkers but still looked to be cruising to second place - until a spin on lap 63 opened the door for Norris. Leclerc compensated by pitting for fresh tyres on the penultimate lap to take the bonus point for fastest lap.l
