Gabriel Bortoleto, Kick Sauber (P18): 3/10
After such a promising start to his 2025 campaign, mistakes seem to have ramped up from Bortoleto in recent weeks. This time it was a spin at the first corner on his final qualifying run that resigned him to the foot of the field on the starting grid. Like a few others the Brazilian opted for an early pitstop for hard tyres and tried to make them last until the end of the race. This unfortunately didn’t work out for the rookie, who found himself being passed by drivers left and right until he was back at the rear of the running order again.
Jack Doohan, Alpine (P17): 3/10
Doohan suffered a similar fate to Bortoleto during the Grand Prix, as his pair of hard tyres wore out too quickly and he was losing several seconds a lap to those around him. Seeing cars pass you one after another in quick succession towards the end of the race must be incredibly demoralising, but a more conventional strategy may have yielded a better result for Doohan, as the Alpine car didn’t look bad in the hands of Gasly.
