F1i 2015 season preview

Red Bull Racing Filming - Day Two

Red Bull

In contrast to Ferrari’s momentum, Red Bull had a disjointed pre-season which never really got going. While the team is confident it is in good shape (and who should doubt the four-time constructors’ champions) the oft-repeated line that things are much better than 12 months ago doesn’t hold a huge amount of water when you look at 2014’s testing debacle.

Red Bull’s ability to develop a car during the season is usually very impressive, but the Renault power unit still doesn’t seem as reliable as the Mercedes or Ferrari. There remains a question mark over Red Bull’s potential, but the smoother pre-seasons enjoyed by its rivals could leave it at the back of the chasing pack.
