Toro Rosso
Toro Rosso’s pre-season couldn’t have gone much better in terms of reliability in order to give its rookie driver line-up the most mileage possible to prepare for the first race of their respective F1 careers. Mixing with the likes of Sauber and Lotus in terms of headline lap times, Carlos Sainz Jr and Max Verstappen were also both able to work on race simulations during testing.
The final test saw a major upgrade introduced to the STR10, with technical director James Key admitting it was a significant overall change to the car which was launched at Jerez. Faenza’s 2015 offering looks to be a good all-rounder, and in Sainz Jr and Verstappen the team has some quick young talent to try and exploit its potential, but finishing in the top five in the constructors’ is likely to come down to how the team fares relative to Lotus, and how quickly McLaren can improve.
