Mercedes
After dominating the 2014 season it’s no surprise to see Mercedes starting the year as the hot favourite once again. Pre-season was relatively smooth, with huge mileage - including over 150 laps on the opening day - and a very quick car. Nico Rosberg’s lap time on soft tyres during the final test surprised even Mercedes’ closest rivals and dampened hopes that it could be closely challenged from the start of the year.
But the team is not without its problems. Toto Wolff admitted to F1i that the W06 is an unpredictable car which can be tricky to set up, and we could see fluctuations in form if Mercedes can’t get the car working properly. That said, even when the drivers aren’t happy with the handling, the car is still very quick.
