Carlos struggled on Saturday afternoon with the changes made to the RS18 after FP3 failing to improve his pace. He was left stranded in Q1 for the first time this season. A massively better car on Sunday coupled with a fantastic start pushed him up to P9. He then lost two positions during his pitstop, but when the race resumed, following the first safety car period, he tangled with Haas' Grosjean while undertaking an optimistic pass on the outside of Copse.
