A trip to the gravel trap early on in qualifying forced Stroll to line up behind his team mate for a pitlane start on Sunday. When they got the green light, both were surprised to see a Force India pointing the wrong way as the precis point where they were to join the track! The safety car periods should have helped their cause, but the Canadian had pitted for fresh rubber the lap before the first intervention. Not what the Grove squad had in mind for Sir Frank’s first visit to a race this season.
