With his 9-1 qualifying advantage, and another 6 points, Esteban is now top dog at Force India. He put in another strong showing even though he should’ve qualified ahead of Leclerc in Q3, and was overtaken by Hülkenberg during the chaotic opening lap. He shadowed the Renault from start to finish, but never found an opening, while he did an excellent job keeping those behind in check.
