F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2020 Styrian GP

Antonio Giovinazzi (P14): 6.5/10
Alfa Romeo continue to appear rather becalmed so far this season. Antonio Giovinazzi didn't take part in FP1 so it's only to be expected that he was slower than Kimi Raikkonen in the afternoon, and might also explain why things went so badly awry in qualifying when he spun off the flooded track in the final seconds of Q1 and triggered a red flag just when everyone was trying to put in a final flying lap. A new gearbox meant he had to start from the back of the grid anyway and he made up four places on the first lap alone. He eventually peaked in eighth place courtesy of deferring his pit stop until lap 36, which dropped him out of the points. No matter how hard he fought, there was no way back into the top ten for him this week.

Romain Grosjean (P13): 6.5/10
Another weekend with few redeeming features for Haas at a whole, although at least both drivers managed to get to the end of the race this time. Even so, there's little sign that they're any more on top of their performance and reliability issues. Grosjean was in the bottom five in both of Friday's practice sessions (technically he was slowest of anyone in FP2 with Daniel Ricciardo crashing out) and then he played no part in qualifying after a water pump issue caused him to run off on his Q1 outlap. Starting from the pit lane after overnight repairs, Grosjean made some headway in the opening laps when the field was still compressed, but at no time looked likely to break into the points.
