F1i's Driver Ratings for the 2020 Styrian GP

Kevin Magnussen (P12): 6.5/10
Kevin Magnussen's weekend started with a thud when he missed out on pretty much the whole of Friday morning's practice session with technical gremlins. He was one of the drivers keen to go qualifying in the wet on Saturday, and mastered the treacherous conditions sufficiently to make it through to the second round, although he went no further than that. Sunday saw him make quick progress with four positions gained in the first three laps, but 11th was the highest he reached all afternoon and after that it was a slow backwards decline, although a couple of late passes on Romain Grosjean and Antonio Giovinazzi ended his race with something of a relative flourish.

Kimi Raikkonen (P11): 7.5/10
With the Alfa Romeo looking a little better but still not anywhere close to points-winning form, P11 was about the best that Kimi Raikkonen could do this week in the absence of the incidents and attrition of the season opener. He was quicker than both Robert Kubica and Antonio Giovinazzi in practice, but in qualifying he was denied a chance to improve his time by Giovinazzi's accident triggering a red flag at the end of Q1, leaving him mired in 16th place on the grid. On the first lap he got caught up in the periphery of the Ferrari meltdown and lost a bunch of positions when the C39 went into anti-stall. The rest of the afternoon was something of a disaster recovery exercise, with 11th place testament to the Iceman's experience and determination in trying circumstances.
