Lance Stroll, Aston Martin (P6): 7/10

Sometimes all you’ve got to do is stay out of trouble to do well in competition. Slow and steady wins the race, as one might also say. Except Stroll wasn’t even slow; he was keeping close to teammate Alonso before the latter crashed out of the race. To cap it all off the Canadian and his race engineer came into the pits at the perfect time to switch onto Intermediate tyres, jumping multiple positions to take home eight valuable points for his and the team’s Championship tally.

Alexander Albon, Williams (P5): 8/10

A surprise sixth place Qualifying result, followed by a faultless drive with perfectly managed and executed pitstops ensured that Albon finished the race close to where he started it. Add to that the Thai driver’s staunch defence against Hamilton, and it was a weekend where not much could have gone better for Albon.
