F1i Driver Ratings for the 2025 Spanish GP

Carlos Sainz, Williams (P14): 4/10

A Q1 exit was a disappointing result for Sainz, who set a time over half a second slower than his teammate. The race didn’t go much better for the Spanish driver, who damaged his front wing on the opening laps and was forced into making an early pitstop on lap nine which hindered the rest of his day. A sad home Grand Prix for Sainz, who failed to score in Spain for the first time in his Formula 1 career.

Yuki Tsunoda, Red Bull (P13): 3/10

Tsunoda was completely lost at sea during qualifying, placing his Red Bull in plum last despite feeling like he extracted the maximum from himself and the car. What this says about Verstappen, Red Bull or a combination of both cannot be said for certain. An alternate strategy in the race, which he started from the pitlane on the medium compound of tyre, worked decently well for the Japanese driver. He showed solid pace and performed a host of overtakes to cross the line in 13th, seven places up from his starting position. Still no points though.
