F1i Driver Ratings for the 2025 Spanish GP

Gabriel Bortoleto, Kick Sauber (P12): 7/10

Sauber seemed to have improved pace in Spain compared to previous weekends, as Bortoleto exemplified with his fantastic qualifying performance. The Brazilian almost managed to get himself into Q3, but was just a few tenths short. The speed and driving ability didn’t let up in the race either, as Bortoleto was thoroughly in the mix for the minor points positions. In the end the rookie fell just short, but earned many plaudits for his undeniable pace behind the wheel all weekend.

Liam Lawson, Racing Bulls (P11): 6/10

Lawson’s driving at the Spnaish Grand Prix was a little too aggressive for us. The New Zealander barged both Albon and Bearman out of the way with divebombs into the first corner, pitted and then made contact with Bearman again at the start of lap 51, pushing the Briton off the circuit. He was so close to scoring a point, but a charging Alonso right at the end meant Lawson left the circuit with nothing.
