2016 Mexican Grand Prix - Driver ratings

Motor Racing - Formula One World Championship - Mexican Grand Prix - Race Day - Mexico City, Mexico

Max Verstappen - 4th place, 12 points - 8/10

In many ways, this was a typical Verstappen race. Provided plenty of entertainment and talking points, but could have done better in certain scenarios. Turn 1 was borderline as he nudged Rosberg off at the start, but he was impressively quick throughout the rest of the race as he kept the championship leader honest and attempted a pass at Turn 4 when backmarkers offered an opportunity. Ultimately, the move backfired as he couldn't make it stick and dropped back from the Mercedes, before going off at Turn 1 when defending against Vettel. A five-second time penalty is the smallest the stewards can hand out, and about right for the incident (if inconsistent).
