2016 Mexican Grand Prix - Driver ratings

Motor Racing - Formula One World Championship - Mexican Grand Prix - Practice Day - Mexico City, Mexico

Marcus Ericsson - 11th place - 9/10

From last with damage at the end of the first lap to a 70-lap stint on medium tyres which took him to the brink of the points, this has to go down as one of Ericsson's best F1 performances. Blameless in being clattered by Wehrlein at Turn 2, Ericsson limped back to the pits and fitted mediums in an attempt to go to the end. Granted, the switch paid off as the tyre performed better than expected, but Ericsson still had to look after one set for the whole race. His pace was very good, enjoying a big advantage over the cars behind which meant he didn't come under pressure late on.
