Failing to score a point while your team-mate amassed 29 is the standout statistic from Gutierrez’s season, but the Mexican was remarkably consistent. F1i scored him between 5 and 7.5 at every race this season, but it is the lack of a standout result or two which really hurts Gutierrez. Reliability also played a part, but he never showed the flash of potential displayed by almost every other driver that suggested there was more to come. Most are searching for consistency, whereas Gutierrez was left searching for that little bit more performance.
