In Budapest, Mobil provided Red Bull with a new formulation of its fuel. This is the first fuel evolution that the team receives, while Renault and McLaren – who share the same supplier as the factory team (BP-Castrol) – had already received a major development at the Spanish Grand Prix.
Unsurprisingly, Renault makes its dynos in priority available to the products developed by BP. Having chosen another supplier, Red Bull thus must ask its engine partner to validate any new formulation developed by Mobil on the dynos at Viry-Châtillon.
It should be noted that in Budapest the RB14 was equipped with a mini “T-wing” and a winglet, as in Monaco.
