Sauber will enjoy an engine component upgrade at the upcoming British Grand Prix in the form of a new turbo installed on its Ferrari power unit.
The Scuderia upgraded its engine with the new turbo at the Canadian Grand Prix, exploiting two of its six remaining development tokens, and customer teams Haas and Sauber will receive the update at Silverstone.
The Swiss outfit will also introduce minor aerodynamic updates in Great Britain while new front and rear wings should appear later this summer, hopefully in Hungary.
Sauber has been affected for some time now by financial woes, with cash flow issues leading to staff being paid late, but team boss Monisha Kaltenborn continues to work towards attracting new sponsors in order to insure the team's ongoing presence in Grand Prix racing.
Felipe Nasr's good performance at last weekend's European Grand Prix in Baku, where his 12th place finish equaled the team's best result this year, shall hopefully have provided a boost to the morale of Sauber's troops.
"In Baku, we could fight more and we were more competitive towards teams around us," Kaltenborn said to Autosport.
"From that perspective, the drivers did a fine job. The result was a boost as it's difficult to keep up the motivation.
"This gets everyone together again and says 'no, we can still do it'. There are positive signals, which are good for the team. We are working on getting things on track still and that will make the car better to drive for the drivers.
"We'll follow our way to make the team more stable again."
