F1i Driver Ratings for the 2025 Austrian GP

Yuki Tsunoda, Red Bull (P16) 3/10

Every weekend Tsunoda looks more and more dejected, and it’s clear that the Japanese driver has hit rock bottom after a dismal Grand Prix in Austria. Despite all of the work behind the scenes, a lack of balance from the RB21 is seriously impacting Tsunoda’s confidence behind the wheel. We know he’s a good driver, which means it must be the car that is bad, not him. He blamed the bad balance for his Q1 exit, and matters didn’t improve during the Grand Prix. It went from bad to worse on lap 30, when he clipped Colapinto in the second sector and sent the Argentine into a spin, warranting a ten-second penalty and a trip to the pits for a new front wing. Another weekend to forget for the Red Bull driver.

Franco Colapinto, Alpine (P15) 3/10

After Bortoleto’s brilliant result, Colapinto is the only driver currently on the grid to have zero points to his name. And in Austria, the Argentine driver never threatened to finish inside the top ten. The spotlight only shone on him for the wrong reasons, with an unfortunate spin on lap 30 after contact with Tsunoda and a near-crash with Piastri when he unwittingly pushed the McLaren driver onto the grass as the latter tried to lap the Alpine. The second of the two incidents resulted in a five-second penalty to add to Colapinto’s struggles.
