F1i Driver Ratings for the 2025 Austrian GP

Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari (P4) 7/10

“Slowly progressing” was the words that Hamilton chose to describe his feeling behind the wheel of his SF-25 in Austria. And it certainly showed, with a best qualifying performance so far this season and a solid 70 laps during Sunday’s race. He wasn’t as far behind Leclerc as he has been in previous rounds, though he still has a ways to go before he can mount a challenge to his Monegasque teammate. Baby steps for the veteran.

Charles Leclerc, Ferrari (P3) 8/10

Ferrari looked quicker than usual around the Red Bull Ring, and were decidedly the second-best team behind McLaren. Leclerc did tremendously well to qualify on the front row beside Norris, but lost out to Piastri at the very first corner of the race. Not that it would have mattered; Piastri would have passed him in no more than a few laps anyway. From that point onwards Leclerc focussed on banging in solid laps and minimising risk to bring his SF-25 home and celebrate on the podium. Couldn’t have really asked for more.
