Esteban Ocon, Haas (P10) 8/10
Ocon once again displayed remarkable consistency in his race pace to climb up a whole host of positions and score points for himself and Haas. A solid strategy certainly helped; extending his opening medium tyre stint allowed him to overcut a number of his competitors. But he also had to overtake several drivers on his way into the top half of the running order, and he eventually found himself in the top ten after getting past a slow Hadjar with 12 laps remaining. The race pace is there, he just needs to up his qualifying game to score more than just a single point.

Nico Hulkenberg, Kick Sauber (P9) 8/10
A Turn 4 lockup was the reason why Hulkenberg wound up starting the Austrian Grand Prix from 20th and last on the grid, but things only improved from that point onwards. Starting on the soft tyres, Hulkenberg pitted early and managed to undercut several close competitors, and a mighty fast second stint gave him the room to pit for a second time on lap 42 and only fall to 11th place. The veteran German turned up the wick yet again to scythe his way past Hadjar and Bearman and finish in a points-paying position. When is this guy going to have anything other than a great weekend?
