MONKEY SEAT BUSINESS

McLaren and Toro Rosso both brought more sophisticated versions of their monkey seat winglets in Monaco, while Williams unveiled its 2016-spec layout of the device. Along with the Red Bull RB12, the FW38 was one the few cars that had not featured the Y100 winglet at the Spanish Grand Prix

McLaren added small endplates to its monkey seat layout, as well as a third flap. The Toro Rosso installation also gained extra flaps, while the serrated endplates now mirror the specific design of the STR11’s rear wing.

More information on how the monkey seat winglet works can be found in our Barcelona technical analysis.
