ADDING MORE STRAKES AT MERCEDES

Keeping true to its aero philosophy of segmentation, Mercedes has added six strakes to the upper flap of its front wing. These help channel the airflow towards the inside of the wheel (see blue arrows), probably towards the brake ducts given the high cooling demands for the discs in Canada.

The complex and many airflows of the front wing, some of which are drawn above, are generated by several elements working in conjunction with each other.
