MERCEDES CONSTANTLY TWEAKING THE WINNING RECIPE

One month after separating the turning vanes of the W07's front wing, Mercedes gave the aero elements another overhaul. The lower serrated part that used to connect all four vanes together was replaced with a pair of oblique planes linked to the third and fourth vane.

Secondly, the ‘monkey seat’ winglet now sports a rounded form, probably in order to vent the exhaust stream upward as well as toward the edges.

Finally, the ‘S-duct’ aperture on the W07 vanity panel nose was curved and now has a protruding shape.

This list of novelties is not exhaustive, as Toro Rosso, Force India, and Mercedes all trialled new specs of low-downforce wings in Canada.
