Nico Hulkenberg - 9th place, 2 points - 7.5/10
While team-mate Perez could nearly render his Saturday mistake irrelevant with a podium, Hulkenberg was unable to do the same after his own error in qualifying. Starting from 12th on the grid, Hulkenberg opted for soft tyres but was blameless as Esteban Gutierrez hit him at Turn 1, almost spinning the Force India and dropping him to 14th. Fighting through traffic used up his tyres and forced a 31-lap stint on the supersofts which he managed admirably, but the tyres wouldn’t quite hold on and he dropped behind the recovering Red Bull pair in the closing laps. Saturday proved costly.
