Fernando Alonso - DNF - 7/10
A frustrating day for Alonso, even if the McLaren didn’t quite have the pace to score points without trouble for those in front. Solid in qualifying, was enjoying a midfield battle but outside the points when a gearbox problem started to get worse and worse. Having yielded to team-mate Button, Alonso was called into the pits to retire and he put up little resistance as he was struggling to downshift.
