Nico Rosberg - 2nd place, 18 points - 8/10
One area Rosberg was clearly lacking was in qualifying. The gap of 0.3s came despite Hamilton saving his engine by not using its most aggressive setting, and Rosberg admitted he couldn’t have matched the time. In the race, however, he was very good. Rosberg had it all to lose and was calm under pressure. When caught behind Verstappen, he was cautious before making a brave and clinical move once told it was imperative he overtake the Red Bull. In the closing laps, Hamilton’s tactics exposed Rosberg to Vettel and Verstappen but he defended well when he needed to and didn’t lose his cool with the title on the line.
