Max Verstappen - 4th place, 12 points - 8.5/10
A slightly strange performance from Verstappen, whose mistake at Turn 1 actually proved to be a blessing in disguise from sixth on the grid. Dropped behind Hulkenberg off the line and then attacked the Force India at Turn 1 but spun, leaving him at the back of the field. From there he scythed back through the midfield and ran long on supersofts to split the Mercedes pair after their first pit stops. Defended well from Rosberg for a spell before the championship leader attacked. Verstappen raced as hard as ever but kept the right side of the line and then pulled off an excellent long stint on softs to make a one-stop strategy work and almost secure a podium as a result, losing out to Vettel late on.
