Both Force India drivers delivered on their final weekend as team-mates, with Perez left angry with himself for forgetting to switch to his qualifying engine mode at the very start of his final flying lap in Q3. Attributed the small gap to Hulkenberg to that error, and it proved crucial as his team-mate was too difficult to pass in the race. Still fought hard and fair when he had the chance to attack, but used his tyres more heavily at the start of each stint in an attempt to catch Hulkenberg and ended up having to defend from Massa late on.
