Verstappen's best F1 result came despite a poor opening lap which saw him down in 13th place. An impressive climb through the field looked to be halted when he somewhat carelessly clipped Valtteri Bottas at Turn 5, but fortunately for Verstappen the only damage was to the Williams and he escaped penalty before being promoted as those around him hit trouble.
