Williams : 40 years of F1 in eleven cars

FW05 (1976)

Although technically not part of the Williams 40-year era, we've included the FW05 as a means of measuring how far the team had come since the days when Frank - who wasn't yet Sir Frank - was barely keeping his head above the water. The FW05 was, in fact, nothing more than a poorly modified Hesketh. Chris Amon, Tom Belso, Hans Binder, Warwick Brown, Michel Leclère, Arturo Merzario and Jacky Ickx, who was in the twilight of his F1 career, took turns driving this dog of a car with seventh in Belgium and Spain its best result.
