Yet again, Stoffel had his troubles in free-practice. In Q1 he admitted to making a bit of a mess of his lap as he grazed the wall several times, but it was still his best Saturday showing in quite a while. On Sunday he managed to put in 42 laps on his first set of tyres. Late in the running he closed right up to Ericsson but couldn’t get past the Swede. With a better position on the grid or the usual amount of retirees, he just might have picked up a point or two.
