F1i Driver Ratings for the 2025 Canadian GP

Lando Norris, McLaren (P18): 6/10

Despite looking like the quicker of the two McLarens throughout the weekend in Canada, Norris left the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve with no points. A critical mistake in both of the Briton’s final qualifying runs resulted in a P7 race start, which compromised him in his battle to stay close to the leading pack. His race pace was perhaps better than anyone else on Sunday, as he scythed his way past Alonso and Hamilton and even held the lead on an alternate strategy. But getting past his teammate Piastri was one ask too many for Norris, who misjudged the distance to the car ahead while attempting an overtake and crashed into the back of the other McLaren, damaging his MCL39 beyond repair. He blamed himself, and rightly so.

Lance Stroll, Aston Martin (P17): 3/10

Even considering it was his first race back after surgery on his wrist, it was yet another disappointing race for Stroll. Out in Q1 yet again at his home Grand Prix, the Canadian endured a quiet and lacklustre race at the back of the pack, the cameras only pointing to him when he pushed Gasly onto the grass down the back straight while defending and receiving a ten-second time penalty for his crimes. Well played.
