F1i Driver Ratings for the 2025 Canadian GP

Yuki Tsunoda, Red Bull (P12): 5/10

A ten-place grid penalty, for overtaking under red flag conditions in FP3, relegated Tsunoda to P18 on the starting grid, from where he would have to perform numerous overtakes if he hoped to score points for himself and Red Bull in the Championship. And overtake he certainly did, but he was just too far back to mount a challenge for the points-scoring positions. It’s always tough to rate Tsunoda, because we can’t say for sure if he’s struggling to extract the maximum out of the car, or if the car itself is just too difficult to drive for anyone other than Verstappen.

Oliver Bearman, Haas (P11): 6/10

Bearman was one of a number of drivers that endured much of the 70-lap race stuck in a DRS train. Therefore he was unable to show off his true pace, and the only real highlight for the British teenager was when he went off track at Turn 8 on lap 33. Unfortunate not to score points, as Haas clearly had the measure of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve as exemplified by Bearman’s teammate.
