Oscar Piastri, McLaren (P4): 7/10
It was strange to see Piastri not contend for a race win, but McLaren looked a little out of sorts around the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for much of the weekend. After losing a position to Mercedes’ Antonelli on the opening tour, the Australian all but resigned himself to a P4 finish. A late charge back at Antonelli in the closing moments of the Grand Prix was derailed after a battle with Norris turned sour and brought out the Safety Car. But a win was never likely for the Championship leader.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Mercedes (P3): 9/10
Now the third-youngest podium finisher in the history of Formula 1, Antonelli rediscovered the potential that he had shown in the opening few rounds but had somewhat lost in recent weeks. He was able to keep close tabs with four-time World Champion Verstappen for most of the Grand Prix and even held the lead for a brief moment. Mercedes definitely had the ebay car in Canada, but Antonelli did well to capitalise on the improved performance of his W16.
