F1i Driver Ratings for the 2025 Canadian GP

Carlos Sainz Jr., Williams (P10): 8/10

All hope looked lost for Sainz after he was impeded by a slow-moving Hadjar in Qualifying, resulting in a Q1 exit. But a unique strategy, running for 58 laps on his opening hard tyre stint, allowed the Spaniard to overcut a number of drivers and finish in the points after Norris’ late crash. Even so, Sainz was unhappy that he was unable to push due to mechanical issues with his car.

Esteban Ocon, Haas (P9): 9/10

Ocon and Haas used the same exact strategy as Sainz to much the same effect, although the Frenchman was the quicker of the two and also stole the limelight for a brief moment with an astounding pair of overtakes on teammate Bearman and Hadjar within a few corners of each other. A flawless Grand Prix for Ocon, who’s been exuding confidence and experience behind the wheel for much of the season so far.
