F1i Driver Ratings for the 2025 Canadian GP

Nico Hulkenberg, Kick Sauber (P8): 8/10

It was always going to be difficult for Hulkenberg to top his performance in Spain a couple of weeks ago, but points yet again in the underpowered Kick Sauber is still super impressive. He had a brilliant opening lap, overtaking Albon and Colapinto to move up into the points. While an extended opening medium tyre stint didn’t work for most drivers, it did for the veteran German, who pitted for a second time later than most and scythed his way through in the closing stages to grab four valuable points.

Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin (P7): 8/10

Alonso was in a class of his own at the head of the midfield in Canada. Another Q3 appearance showed that the Imola upgrades are clearly working, and the Spanish driver was able to keep the McLaren of Norris at bay for 11 whole laps. He had to make a number of overtakes to make his way back into the points after his pitstops, but a top ten finish never looked in doubt for Alonso.
