DEXTERITY NEEDED
F1 drivers can no longer rely on electronics during the starting procedure. Up until recently, they could release the paddle fairly loosely and the electronics would help find the clutch bite point. This year, they have to be more careful when releasing the clutch… just like you do at the wheel of your everyday car!
Never short of ideas, teams have been developing systems to help find the clutch bite point. Like Force India, Renault has added horizontal strips so their driver’s fingers won’t slip.
