Esteban Ocon, Haas (P18) 4/10
Ocon’s race was derailed pretty early on, thanks to brake problems that plagued his Haas car for the remainder of the race. But it was a poor qualifying grid slot that cost the French driver more, owing to the difficulty in overtaking at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Gabriel Bortoleto, Kick Sauber (P17) 4/10
A weekend to forget for Kick Sauber, as not even an in-form Bortoleto could muscle his way into the top half of the running order and salvage a point or two. He might have had half a chance, were it not for a damaged front wing that necessitated a lengthy pitstop on lap 14. Getting overtaken by a whole host of competitors in the final few laps of the race on heavily worn hards must have been pretty demoralising too.
