Charles Leclerc, Ferrari (P6) 6/10
Leclerc was understandably downbeat after a difficult Singapore Grand Prix. Asking a driver to lift and coast for 200 metres down the main straight would definitely draw the ire of anyone behind the wheel. There’s something wrong with that Ferrari, as not only did they have to lift off on the straights to save fuel, it was also to stop the brakes on the SF-25 from failing entirely, as they did for Hamilton at the end. This made it inevitable that Leclerc would lose out to Antonelli in the battle for fifth.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Mercedes (P5) 7/10
The fact that Antonelli drove 62 laps with great pace with an off-centre steering wheel deserves plaudits on its own. The Italian teenager believes he could have placed on the podium were it not for a disappointing qualifying performance, but nevertheless he drove well, constantly attacking the Ferrari of Leclerc and being rewarded for his pressure by finally finding a way through on the Monegasque with a few laps remaining.
