Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari (P8) 5/10
Not much went right for Hamilton in Singapore, pretty much from lights to flag. The seven-time World Champion lost out to his teammate on the opening lap and wasn’t able to hold a candle to Leclerc or the Mercedes of Antonelli on pure pace. It was only after he came in for a set of soft tyres on lap 47 that he came alive, passing Leclerc and Antonelli with expected ease. But then disaster struck as his SF-25 suffered a brake failure. The Briton rapidly fell down the pecking order and just managed to stay ahead of Alonso, who was 43 seconds down on the Ferrari when the failure occurred. But to add insult to injury, Hamilton was awarded a five second penalty for multiple off-track excursions, demoting him down to yet another place to eighth.

Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin (P7) 9/10
While many of our eyes were glued on the unfolding battle at the head of the field, the running order and fight for the minor points positions was arguably even more tantalising. This was perfectly encapsulated by Alonso, who was sitting pretty in P8 in the opening phases. But after a disastrous 9.2-second pitstop the veteran found himself way outside the top ten. But showcasing his resolve and blistering pace, the Spaniard performed numerous on-track overtakes to claw his way back into the points at the race’s climax to close the gap to Racing Bulls for sixth in the Constructors' Championship.
