Hamilton had taken the first two pole positions in 2016 but an MGU-H problem left him starting from 22nd on the grid as Rosberg took pole in China. The German was beaten off the line by Daniel Ricciardo but a puncture for the Red Bull left the track clear and he eased to a sixth consecutive victory.
