Toro Rosso: 7.5/10
At the bottom of the gaggle of teams fighting for fifth place in the constructors’ championship, Toro Rosso had a number of races where it looked to be quicker than Red Bull at the start of the season. James Key’s car is a strong one aerodynamically, especially in high speed corners, but it too has been held back by Renault reliability issues.
Toro Rosso is not completely blameless, with Hungary a prime example of major points lost by a team failure rather than a Renault one, but it still delivered with one car as Max Verstappen finished fourth. Working with a rookie driver line-up can’t be easy, but Toro Rosso has supplied them both with a good car and as the drivers improve, so too could the team’s championship standing.
