While Palmer performed poorly in Monaco, he was unfortunate in Canada. Had slight contact with Sainz at the start and went backwards, getting stuck behind Wehrlein with the Manor competitive in Montreal. Finally found clear air towards the end of his first stint but just as he started to show some pace the team retired him due to a loss of water pressure.
