Lance Stroll, Aston Martin (P14) 4/10
Stroll makes himself look better by qualifying so low down the order that the only way is up. He took it a step further in Mexico by spinning on the opening lap as if he was auditioning for Tokyo Drift, dropping a fair distance behind the rest of the field. Although the Aston Martin beneath him wasn’t quite as fast as it had been in previous weekends, the Canadian did perform several solid overtakes which can’t be entirely ignored. But as always, he just gave himself too much to do after a dismal Saturday performance.

Isack Hadjar, Racing Bulls (P13) 5/10
A poor strategy likely prevented Hadjar from finishing inside the top ten and scoring points for himself and Racing Bulls. Initially, the Frenchman was sitting pretty in P11, albeit losing significant time to Ocon in P10. Medium tyres were the culprit as they proved much slower than they were durable compared to the soft tyres. He managed to sneak his way into the points after the pitstops were completed, but didn’t have the pace on aging soft tyres to hold off an onslaught of drivers on fresher tyres in the closing stages of the Grand Prix. Ultimately, Hadjar crossed the line in P13.
