Fernando Alonso - 14th place - 6/10
Felt McLaren made some mistakes during the race as he slipped back from 12th on the grid, with a slow first pit stop proving particularly costly. The red light in the McLaren pit box did not turn green and Alonso had to be waved out, costing him time and leaving him 17th on the road. His first two stints matched Button’s for strategy but he fitted soft tyres for the final 18 laps and surprisingly couldn’t make them last, so switched to a fresh set of supersofts with two laps remaining which cost him 13th but resulted in the fastest lap by over half a second.
