Daniel Ricciardo - 5th place, 10 points - 8/10
In a race devoid of action at the front, Ricciardo provided the highlight as he hunted down Bottas in the closing stages of the race. Said Red Bull was likely to need strategy to beat the Williams from sixth on the grid, but the two-stop strategy - running the supersofts in the final stint - only worked courtesy of an excellent lunge down the inside at Turn 1, showing Ricciardo’s supreme confidence under braking. Admittedly, Ricciardo is excitable even on a bad day, but the Australian said he was "pretty jacked up” after pulling off the move, highlighted by a hand gesture in celebration. Could prove to be crucial points in the fight with Ferrari.
