However, getting up close and personal with an F1 car isn't an easy task as Laurent Charniaux explains.
"First of all, when a car is static it usually has a swarm of team personnel buzzing around it, so it's often a challenge to get a clean shot. But the need for teams to guard their design's secrets is also a barrier.
"When there's nothing to hide and one has access to a team's garage, like we have with Renault, shooting and bringing out the details of an element or design can be very gratifying. And as we know, Formula 1 is all about the details…"
