Sergio Perez (Oil leak, L42): 7/10
Sergio Perez was optimistic about getting into the points this weekend, but an ill-timed accident in final practice on Saturday morning put him on the back foot. He still managed to make it through to Q2 in the hastily rebuilt Racing Point, but the gearbox damage meant he ended up being demoted to 15th place on the grid which put him in the thick of the action at the start of Sunday's race. He stayed patient and kept his nose clean through the opening laps, and after an early pit stop to trade medium tyres for the hard compound he was diligently working his way up through the standings and finally broke into the points on lap 37. Shortly thereafter the RP19 sprang a leak and the team ordered him to pull over and park the car, just when it seemed that a top ten finish was in the offing.
